Distilled Memory is a wearable interactive sculpture representing the process of distillation as we are left with incomplete and one sided memory after loss. We hold a moment precious in our hands, yet overtime parts begin to chip away leaving a space of raw disorientation. We wear down these memories until they again become smooth though fragmented from our own perceptions. These four cast spheres were individually cast in bronze using the technique of sand casting. The way they are worn is simply to be held, rolled, squeezed in the hand. They are meant to be held singularly to represent the progression and distortion of grief and memory.
